A FORMER Paarlite, Nigel Kurtz, has been appointed as the new North American Regional Manager for Actronic Technologies Ltd, a company based in New Zealand.

Since 1979, Actronic has been designing, developing and manufacturing applied technology solutions to improve productivity in the aggregates, mining, waste management, forestry and other industries.

Nigel attended primary school at Paarlzicht. He started high school at New Orleans Secondary School and graduated from Paarl Boys’ High in 1994.

After earning his National Diploma in Electrical Engineering at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, he moved to New Zealand in 1999 where he completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree and started as an engineer with Actronic in 2001.

He worked as a Design Engineer until 2006 and in 2007 he moved into a product management role for Actronic’s information solutions products where he was responsible for delivering productivity improvement products used in several mining and aggregate industries across the world, including South Africa.

Nigel relocated to the USA in April 2010, where he is currently completing a Masters of Business Administration at the prestigious WP Carey Business School in Arizona.

He will be employed as Regional Manager for North America from 1 April, based in Arizona.
